Cartoonology. There is great theology in cartoons and comics.
You can’t hide, especially in this day and time. Cameras are everywhere in stores, busses, police cars and on street corners. In addition to that, people have camera phones. Sometimes people do get caught in embarrassing situations. It almost makes you afraid to go out of your house.
God has always had 24-hour surveillance. No one has ever been able to escape His all-searching eye.
Proverbs 15:3 (NKJV)
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.
Adam and Eve tried to hide from God in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:8), but they could not escape Him. Cain buried his brother Abel after murdering him, but his blood cried out to God from the ground (Genesis 4:1-15). Achan tried to hide his sin (Joshua 7:16-22), but he was found out. Ananias and Sapphira tried to deceive the church (Acts 5:1-11), and they were exposed. The scripture says:
Numbers 32:23b (NKJV)
23 . . . .be sure your sin will find you out.
23 . . . .be sure your sin will find you out.
Confession of our sin to God is of utmost importance in order to receive forgiveness (1 John 1:9). Confession simply means to agree with God. It does not mean that we have to inform Him about our sin. He already knows. He just wants us to acknowledge our sin and agree with Him that we have sinned. Notice that 1 John 1:9 tells us God not only forgives us our sin, but He also cleanses us of our sin. This is one of those verses we need to practice daily. When we confess sin every time we become aware we have committed it, God will begin the cleansing process of removing that sinful habit from our lives. Do you have a sinful habit? You might think no one knows about it, but God knows, and He wants to cleanse you of it. Don’t make excuses for that sinful habit. Rather begin to honestly confess it and ask God’s forgiveness. If you are genuine, God will keep His promise and take it out of your life. God in His wonderful love always responds to the penitent heart ( Hebrews 10:16-18). What great relief!! 03-14-09
