Cartoonology Devotional 05-19-09 E. Larry Ross Cartoonology. There is great theology in cartoons and comics. The habit of being negative is sinful. It should not be so among God’s people. We all have our moments, but some people will only see the negative side of everything and can seldom, if not ever, see anything positive. These people drag others down and must be miserable themselves. I’m sure not all of us can be like Will Rogers who once said, “I never met a man I didn’t like”, but I am sure we all could begin looking more positively at life and at others. A man constantly criticized his Christian neighbor because she always thanking God for providing her needs. He tried to fool her by placing a bag of groceries on her front stoop, ringing her doorbell and standing behind a bush to watch her reaction. Upon seeing the bag, she immediately began praising God. The man came out of the bushes and told her that he had placed the bag there and not God. Her reaction was, “Praise the Lord, He provided me groceries and used the devil to do it”. Praising God is the cure for negative thinking. It will enable you to look for the good in others and focus on the positive in any situation. An encouraging word will make you and others experience more hope. Psalm 71:14 (NKJV) 14 But I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more. 05-19-09 edrynn@verizon.net Click on the link here to see all previous Cartoonology Devotionals.
