Cartoonology Devotional 05-21-09 E. Larry Ross Cartoonology. There is great theology in cartoons and comics. Little boys will do the strangest things. My son once climbed on top of my father-in-law’s outdoor barbecue pit. It was well built of brick with a large flue liner. Once up there, he decided to see if he could fit himself inside. The problem was he went in with his legs folded. He got wedged and couldn’t go up or down. He was stuck and his yelling caught our attention inside the house. It seems he was always sticking his head where it shouldn’t be. Another time he got caught between some wrought iron railing pickets. His big ears wouldn’t let him pull his head back out. I guess sticking your head where it doesn’t belong usually begins by sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong. The lack of something productive to do is attributed to this type of useless activity. The Apostle Paul had a word about the matter. 2 Thessalonians 3:10-11 (NKJV) 10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. 05-21-09 edrynn@verizon.net
