Cartoonology Devotional 05-16-09 E. Larry Ross Cartoonology devotional. There is great theology in cartoons and comics. We are in too big of a hurry today. We have HOV lanes, self-checkout lines, express lanes, fast food, faster Internet, etc. The odd thing is that we don’t seem to have time for the important things. The problem is we just cram more stuff into our schedules. I have a particular concern for children. Many are just too busy doing too much stuff. The important things like time with family, play time, dream time, time for schoolwork and time for personal interaction with people who really matter in life are left in the dust. Children are way too stressed today way too early in life. This is partly due to too much emphasis on sports, beauty contests and other extra-curricular actives. We had some of these things when I was in upper grade school and high school, but now kindergarten children and younger are being pushed into this mad rush to compete. We are rearing generations of children who really do not know what it is to simply be a child, and they are paying a price. Unfortunately, people who only see dollar signs are often driving it. Let’s allow our children to be children. They only get one chance at it. Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) 1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: 05-16-09 edrynn@verizon.net
