Cartoonology Devotional 06-14-09 E. Larry Ross Cartoonology. There is great theology in cartoons and comics. Don’t you just love it when you make an important phone call and all you get is an electronic response with a long list of options requiring you to push this button and that button? It seems more and more difficult to speak with a real person on the phone. You do not feel like your call is very important to them even though they tell you it is on their electronic message. And to leave a message is often futile. The day we call 911 and get the same treatment, we’ll know we’re in trouble. Thank goodness there is One we can always call and get personal attention. God stands ready at all times to take any call whether it be for an emergency or just to chat. We each have our own hotline to Him and there is never a busy signal or some third party to deal with. Most importantly, God always knows what our need or desire is, even when we are not sure what to say or how to say it. Getting tongue-tied with God is never a problem, because we have also have a personal Assistant who can speak for us. Romans 8:26 (NKJV) 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 09-14-09 Click on the link here to see all previous Cartoonology Devotionals.
