Cartoonology. There is great theology in cartoons and comics.
Have you ever let a great opportunity slip by you? Many times when that happens it is lost and never to return. Our life is often drastically affected by the loss. We can never know how different our life might have otherwise been in this world.
Several things can make us miss opportunities.
1. Not looking for opportunities.
2. Not grasping for the opportunities at the right time.
3. Not having the initiative to grab an opportunity when it arises.
4. Not handling the opportunity properly.
Most often, we think of opportunity only in terms of what will profit us. However, the Bible has a different perspective on that.
Galatians 6:10 (NKJV) 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Paul admonishes us to look for opportunity to do good to all men. Not only that, he admonishes us to “especially” do good to those of the “household of faith”. This means fellow Christ followers - those who are a part of the local church. Only you and other members can do this.
Your church might not be perfect. I know my local church isn’t because of me! Remember, if you trash the church, you are also trashing yourself because you have a responsibility, and you are trashing something precious for which Jesus died. 07-02-09
