Share on Facebook Cartoonology Devotional 05-28-09 E. Larry Ross Cartoonology. There is great theology in cartoons and comics. Before Jesus, nobody taught one should love his enemies. This was considered radical, and it still is today. The enemy was only to be destroyed. Abraham Lincoln once said, “The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him your friend”. Only the love of God can make that happen. The Apostle Paul helps us on this matter in 1 Corinthians 13. He mostly tells us what love is not, and we understand him perfectly. 1. Love does not envy 2. Love is not arrogant and proud 3. Love is not rude 4. Love is not selfish 5. Love is not easily provoked 6. Love thinks no evil 7. Love is never happy about sin 8. Love does not fail Paul does not tell us love has to accept sin. God does not accept sin, yet he loves. All too often people think that to love and forgive someone who has wronged them means they are saying the wrong is OK. Not so.
